🌱 SARE Focus Group Identifies Key Best Practices for Smart and Sustainable Agriculture
On 4 July 2025 , partners from Poland, Cyprus, and Malta came together for an online Focus Group under Activity 2 of the Erasmus+ project Smart Agriculture for Resource Efficiency (SARE) . The half-day event, hosted by the European Institute for Emerging Technologies (EIET) , brought together nine experts from the three partner countries to refine the development of the SARE training content, focusing on sustainable farming practices , resource efficiency , and smart agriculture .
The Focus Group aimed to align the project with current EU agricultural policies, explore innovative digital tools, and identify the best approaches for integrating these technologies into farmer training. Collaboration among partners was key: FWW led discussions on sustainable farming practices , OMNIA focused on resource management , and EIET contributed expertise in smart agriculture .
During the session, participants identified nine EU-aligned best practices , including precision farming, integrated pest management, data-driven decision making, and sustainable irrigation. These insights will serve as the foundation for developing the SARE project’s training materials under Activity 4, ensuring they are practical, innovative, and relevant to real agricultural needs.
The findings from the focus group mark an important milestone in SARE’s journey toward promoting greener and smarter farming. National training activities based on these results will take place in Poland, Cyprus, and Malta in the first half of 2026 .
